-- Champion Landor addressing a Gripham village assembly
Located in an area rife with mineral reserves, the small mining village of Gripham is a key component of the Teladir war effort. The ores that flow out of its mines are integral to the forging of new weapons and armor for Teladir soldiers. The Aspalarian Sovereignty is well aware of this and often makes Gripham a high priority target for its raids.

Despite its strategic importance, Gripham village has proven to be notoriously difficult to fortify. Located north of a vast sprawling wilderness known colloquially as the ‘Grip,’ the village has no naturally occurring chokepoints which might otherwise be walled or gated. The pragmatic, primarily Tinker, population of Gripham has largely come to terms with the lack of security, knowing that it is unlikely the Aspalarians will be able to hold their village for any protracted period of time with supply lines stretching all the way across the ocean.

The village of Gripham is one of the more racially diverse population centers on Teladir. Populated by a mix of tinkers and oceansingers, with a sizeable human contingent as well. The tinkers were the original founders of the village and are the natural choice of workers for its mines. The oceansingers arrived later, after the destruction of the Blessed Isles and have found a niche as the administrators and clerks of the village.

Even when the drums of war are temporarily silent, the area surrounding Gripham Village isn’t without its dangers. The southern forests are home to a variety of wild beasts, none more dangerous than the bandits and their leader, Taran the Quick. Many a traveler has found their end at the snapping jaws and flashing blades waiting in the shadows of the Grip’s forests. Those who venture within are advised to travel swiftly and in numbers, as death can lurk in any shadow.
