There is much upon the world of Lithmeria that lends itself to a subtle, nuanced approach. As the two great nations on either side of the great ocean plot and scheme against each other, manoeuvring for advantage, long shadows are cast. Having taken a step back from wide scale engagements involving thousands of troops and instead focusing on elite skirmishers both Aspalaria and Teladir have created a perfect niche for the rogues among them.

In my ways, the current age is an age of opportunity for those who specialize in moving unseen. With the military forces of both the Sovereignty and the Accord distracted upon the borders, lawlessness and subterfuge can strike anywhere and at any time. For many talented lads in dull farmsteads and mining villages across Lithmeria the lure of the rogue's life proves overwhelming. Few pass the initial obstacles and fewer still have the innate ability required to master the arts of the Phantom or Marauder but there is never a shortage of those willing to try.

Both the Accord and the Sovereignty employ rogues for vaguely similar tasks. Rogues make perfect scouts for larger raiding parties. With their natural dexterity and ability to launch boarding attacks, they make ideal marines. The high level of security on the borders also means that often, rogues are the only ones capable of slipping through the enemy net and performing vital tasks.
